Marina from Poland managed to turn the saturday night into a snoozefest. While the visuals were promising, the song was underwhelming.
Robert M feat Jai Matt – Kiss the Sky
Is is just me, or is Jai singing terribly off-key. This song could've been great if he didn't.
Sheikh feat. Nicco – Hold Tight
One would hear Nicco sing and would say: "It's a Jamaican!". Not to far from the truth. Nicco Maniatty is a white singer from the Virgin Islands! And he became famous in Eastern Europe trough German and Polish dj's. However the sound is quite repetitive, and once you've heard it, you're kinda living that deja-vu. This song is way less catchy than "Dancehall Track" by Robert M, and hence the low rating. Enjoy though.

The funny thing is, when I mention Doda to my Polish friends, nobody ever agreed on her being vulgar. PLEASE! This b*tch invented vulgar! She just proves my point in a video that's gaining airplay on all the polish channels; 'XXX'
Horror for all the wrong reasons
Take a cheesy Horror theme, a Lady GaGa beat from 3 years ago, and an off key singing girl and the result is: Ewa Farna's "Monster High". Oh and did i mention the ripping off of "Gimme More" by Shitney Britney Spears? It's really horrible, and for all the wrong reasons.
It’s amazing what a little Polish can do!
Polish-French Matt Pokora with his obviously Photoshopped muscles released a new English language effort "oblivion". While the song is very nice, the video does not seem to fit in. Even if it's not a bad video, the song would call for something more organic. Nevertheless, well done Matt.
Mistaken identity
When I first saw this video "Seksualna" by Mirami on Viva Poleca i assumed it was Polish. The video and the start of the song strongly resemble "Sexy Bitch" by David Guetta ft. Akon, also some elements of Black Eyed Peas were used, but when the chorus sets in it turns out to be a real Eastern European club banger. My Polish friend later told me it wasn't Polish and she didn't understand the lyrics. So it turned out to be Ukrainian, it seems to have success only in Poland though, no sign of the song on Ukrainian charts...
The winner according to Youtube
This year the Eurovision shows a low in songs that interest me, however I'd like to give a prediction of the winner using viewing totals from youtube, let's see how the overall favorites are doing. My favorites of these are Hungary, Estonia and Norway. I think the vocal capabilities of Sweden and Norway are dubious, Stella's "Haba Haba" is like the new "Waka Waka" and Eric Saade's "Popular" is an obnoxious ABBAeque-song that however enters your head and seems indelible. Poland's "Jestem" is the usual Polish pop-rock song. Lena's tries to go back to the 60's and should've participated in the Avengers. Dino will do good with the elderly, he kind of remind me of Roger Witthaker. My prediction: anyone of the top 3 youtube hits I think, with special attention to B&H because they always get a lot of political votes.
