Loreen – We Got The Power
After her live teaser of her new single during the finals of the 2013 ESC Loreen releases the video. With an impeccable timing this time. All all of her future songs will stand in the shadow of Euphoria, it's needless to make comparisons. The good thing is, Loreen's showing us a new side of herself we haven't seen before. It's a wise choice not to make yet another Euphoria-clone after "My Love Is Refusing Me" failed to impress the audiences.
Nina Kray – Like A Night Out In Vegas
Isn't this why we love watching videos like this? I'm wondering if Nina was really trying to be serious, or just trying to show her boobs and accentuate her big lips. While the song isn't so bad, and the video neither, but the whole combination just makes it all so trashy, but again, that's why we secretly love it.
Malin – Unstoppable
Indy artist Malin shows great talent in her debut video Unstoppable. After moving to L.A. she started to build a career for herself, and it looks promising! Robyn, better watch your ass, 'cus Malin is coming!
Rebecca & Fiona – Union

While this video is very entertaining indeed, the music is a big bluff if you'd ask me. While using a very commercial beat and background music, R&F are singing in a way wanting to be very artsy. But, sorry, you're not two Björks, and if you can't sing, then don't.
ARASH feat. Sean Paul – She Makes Me Go
![]()
Arash, Swedish-Persian hit wonder famous in most parts of the world, keeps pushing for world domination. This time he teams up with expired hit maker of the early nillies Sean Paul. The video plot is simple: Fill an Atlanta mansion with decent looking girls and add only two men. The song's plot is simple too: Take a 90's song of Eurodance group Ice Mc., slightly alter it, and add some autotune (Persians love autotune!). Of course this picture wouldn't be complete without Aylar Lie, the most famous Persian porno star.

This playlist is great for viewing on your smart tv!
M!ss Me vs. Alen Sami – Boyz & Girlz
This club really looks like it needs a bouncer. NOT! "M!SS Me", born as Fredrika Edler, really knows how to crash the party. Or should I say, trash the party?
John Dahlbäck – Life (Diamonds In The Dark) feat. Agnes
DJ John Dahlbäck collaborates with Agnes on his latest track. While Rihanna has diamonds in the sky, Agnes and John have diamonds in the dark. I have to say the song is somewhat hysterical so that's why I've given 3/5 stars.
WorldPop Top 5
1. Анастасия Стоцкая - Влюбляться
2. Avicii vs. Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One
3. Kim Sori - Dual Life
4. Perfume - Spending All My Time
5. Gülşen - Yatcaz Kalkcaz Ordayım
Loreen – Heal
Not really top, mostly "meh". I understand she wants to get rid of the Dance-girl image, but this is a little drastic. Although it's more original, I don't feel her voice is properly used in this Björk-esque song. For sure "heal" is better than "My heart is refusing me" but the latter was easyer to listen to. I was hoping for a new Swedish dance diva, but too bad!
Petra Marklund – Sanningen
Petra Marklund (alias September) delivered us the best album of 2012, and now she might as well be delivering us the best video of 2013. It's very touching indeed, and it really fits with the lyrics as well. Love it!
MIXKULA Awards: And the winners are!
BEST SONG
Let's start with the winner of the best song os 2012! (Almost) Unanimously our readers chose this year's ESC winner Loreen, with 92% of the votes, this years best song goes to "Euphoria"
TRASHIEST VIDEO
We actually have a three-way tie on trashiest video this year. 24% of the votes went to NIKITA, Shaggy Ft. Eve and SiSi Girl. While NIKITA got their prize for their "pussy eating" dance, Shaggy and Eve were just plain low budget and ghetto. SiSi girl however looked like they were singing a song on their porno shoot. So they all equally deserve this trashy prize! I'm posting a new version of NIKITA's video just to mix it up a little, it's equally trashy though.
BEST ALBUM
This one wasn't up for debate: MIXKULA chose Petra Marklund's (aka September) album "Inferno" as this year's best album!

Petra Marklund – Händerna mot himlen
OMG! How did i miss this one? Petra Marklund, alias September, released this video a month ago, but as you might have been able to tell I've been extremely busy, and it just passed me by. So for all of you who didn't know this one yet: enjoy!
This summer’s MIXKULA playlist!
The best songs to relive this summer are here collected in a playlist!
Celia ft Mohombi – Love 2 Party

![]()
Costi, the narcissistic Romanian producer, combines Congolese-Swedish singer Mohombi with Celia in a Chalga infused dance tune. What more can go wrong? Well nothing if you're on a low budget, because the video was shot in Mamaia, Romania, not in some fancy shmancy Côte D'Azur resort town, so we all can enjoy it too! The song is kinda dull and it lacks momentum, but I bet that all changes after a few hits of the local vodka...
Playmen feat. Helena Paparizou, Courtney & Riskykidd – All The Time
Less is still more, less Helena Paparizou would've made this song a lot more interesting...![]()
Loreen – Euphoria (The Video)
As I've blogged and reblogged this song for a couple of million times, it may be apparent that I really like it. Loreen FINALLY released the video to her Eurovision smash "Euphoria", better late then never she thought. While the imaging is nice, I have to say the video does not add anything to the song. It lacks the power the song transmits on its own, and to be honest, it even de-powers the song. While shooting in the Swedish forest could produce a stunningly strong image, it feels a littlebit static and unfocused. Moreover, releasing a video when the song is steadily declining on all charts, is rather useless, it was better to spent time and money on a folow-up or to have it ready before the victory, which has been over a month ago now.
Rape Alert! Cascada – Rythm Of The Night

One of our favorite 90's classics "Rythm Of The Night" by Corona just got raped, by Anglo-German Cascada. While Sunblock enhanced "Baby Baby" using the original singer and giving it a modern twist, Cascada just planely violated it, publicly. Ok, Sunblock's video was more questionable but this Cascada's version is terrible!
Tone Damli feat. Eric Saade – Imagine
Eric Saade, also know for being a "Popular" number 3 at ESC 2011 became something he's not: a muscular man. In 12 months he's transformed from a teenager (not to say twink) into a... Ricky Martin clone? My point exactly, just stop pretending you like the girl Eric ;) PS. REALLY! you must shave that chest!
The best so far!
Since there's a complete lack of writable music, let's have a flashback on all the highlights this year brought us so far!
1. Euphoria - Loreen
This song blew up my iPod right after i heard it for the first time. It winning the ESC 2012 totally restored my trust in the whole event (imagine if Russia won!?!?!?!). The song has had an incredible surge up many charts around the world, but sadly I'm not confident it will last as long as I'll love this song.
2. La La Love - Ivi Adamou
Another incredibly catchy song from this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Even if her vocal performance was a big let-down I still think this song was one of the highlights. And the video totally rocks!
3. ЧИ-ЛИ - Облака
The wild-child of Russian pop music may be hard to get used to. I admit, she has an unusual voice. I cant say its her best video, but i absolutely love the song!
4. Kerli - Zero Gravity
While Estonian Kerli overdid a little on the video, the song is TOTALLY catchy, and repeatable!
5. Laurentiu Duta - Shining Heart ft. Andreea Banica
While the song is kinda built on the same mold as many other Romanian songs, this one is way more catchy! Laurentiu is kind of the ugly duckling next to Andreea but she's nothing without him! Or so she sings...
