Zamzama – Moviy ko’zlaring
Another example of great Uzbek productions: Zamzama gives us a mix between traditional Uzbek sounds and a Edward Maya-esque sound.
Plagiary, the national hobby of Uzbekistan?
The video to the latest song by Amira Alibekova, "Faqat Seniki", is a bad copy of Nancy Ajram's epic video to "Mashy Haddy" of 2009. It hard being original when you even need to copy the sunglasses shape! We saw it happen before when Manzura copied Gulsen's video. Is this their national hobby?
Feruza Egamova covers Ajda Pekkan’s “Arada Sirada”
Another epic Turkish song echoing in Uzbekistan is "Arada Sirada", Ajda Pekkan's 2011 smash hit. Feruza Egamova's "Ishq fasli" gives some minor changes to the dance version of Ajda's version and translates the song to the Uzbek language. While it's an ok song, it's bleak compared to the original. One does not mess with divas...
Umidaxon – From Obvious
I can't say I'm too impressed with the song Umidaxon is presenting us here, but the video has a great production to it! And man is she growing up fast since the last time we saw her...
MAXITA – Izlayman
Uzbekistan's first girl-group? This is MAXITA, masterminded by Nilufar Usmanova, who inherited her title from her mother Yulduz. I'm still not sure if there's 2 or 3 members to this group...
Yulduz Usmonona – Gulisan
Not a 1000 ballerinas could make up for a lousy song. Uzbek super-legend Yulduz Usmanova is capable of much more than her latest single.
Navro’z Sobirov – Mani sev Titra
Covers, you're doing it wrong, Navro'z. Bengü's song "Iki Melek" came out 4 years ago and sounded newer than this...
HRV 83
This playlist is great for viewing on your smart tv!
Shoira Otabekova – Ey dil
This song is a great offering by Uzbek songstress Shoira Otabekova. The style resembles that of Persian music, and likely she covered it from another singer (since it's somewhat different from your average Uzbek hit). The video is an epic duel between good and evil. Thumbs up!
Zafira – Momajon
From Tashkent with love Zafira brings us a splendidly produced video for her latest song "Momajon". It seems funny I haven't heard from her before, seeing the scale of this video.
Шахзода – Мой золотой (Dr. Costi mix)
You know you're screwed when a Uzbek singer and a Bulgarian producer shoot the video for their Russian-market song in Thailand. Shahzada became famous internationally after her single "Kechalar" and released her first russian market single with "1000 и одна ночь (1001 nights)". Even if Shahzoda looks great in this video, it's the song that rips her from all her personality. This song sounds like any other Costi production and Shahzoda's role as an Uzbek singer would've easily been substituted by a Romanian, Bulgarian or Moldovan singer. It personally reminds me too much of a country-fair kind of song.
Нилуфар Усмонова – Ана, ана

Daughter of the legendary Uzbek superstar Yulduz Usmanova, Nilufar only has a fraction of her mother's talent. Let's just say her stardom is purely inherited. Actually the song is quite nice, but Nilufar has the fashion sense of a broke down mall rat. A real bad head dress fetish reveals itself in the span of this 4 minute video. Clearly anything she could find that could accentuate the lack of bone structure in her face was used to put on it. Not only does she give us a knight crusading against good taste outfit, but also a cute Chernobyl flower and a broke down Carmen Miranda just to name a few. I had to laugh too damn hard on this one...
Amira Alibekova – Omon Omon
The amount of fur in this video would sent PETA on a crusade against Uzbekistan. But apart from that Amira Alibekova is dishing a world class video on horse-back, Uzbek style. The best thing about this video: it was shot in the REAL winter cold, not some Hollywood studio without those condense clouds that come from the mouth after taking a breath. Amira is handeling the cold extremely well, and putting off quite a performance!
Munisa Rizayeva – Sekin asta (O’Yla)
Our friend Munisa Rizayeva went to Istanbul for her latest video, face it, song and clip don't match the quality of her last video, but it's still a nice break from winter weather. It does come across as crazy tourist at times, and for sure the night shots are much better.
Tamila – Yagonam

So the Unibrow is fashion now? That is according to Tamila. In this song she combines her sparsely-there vocals with an arabic singer. It's not bad at all.
Tamila – Kel Ayama: Bring the bling!

Tamila brings us the bling in a song I suspect to be covered from a Bulgarian Chalga cracker. She has bling sticked to her skin, glassed, dress and wears an all gold outfit as well. But all in all it's a nice visual for this catchy song!
Lola – Jonim sog’indim

Someone played too many video games. Lola has a 1,5 minute introduction to her video, consisting completely of shooting. It has absolutely nothing to do with the mellow, middle of the road pop song she sings after it. Just don't do these useless things! That goes for singers all over the world.

Ziyoda – Hali, hali

This is not my favorite song from Uzbek pop princess Ziyoda, but it's nice that she tries something new in this latest single: Dance. It takes too long to start, and the video is not very sucessful, if only the dancers did not have such tacky costumes...
Yulduz returns to Uzbekistan: Lov Lov
I have to admit, it's not her greatest video, but it's great to see Yulduz Usmanova performing in her native language again. After years of self imposed exile, she decided to do a song for the country where she enjoys iconic superstar status, Uzbekistan. Even if I do like her Turkish efforts as well, and she's also very successful over there, there's no place like home!
Manzura – Seniki bo’lay
While Turkish popstat Gülsen was inspired by the 60's movie "Funny Face", Manzura from Uzbekistan received her inspiration from the former. It's clear how much this video, the make-up and even the clothing resemble the video of "Yeni Biri". The only thing is Manzura comes off a bit full of herself, and the lipstick is put too far out of her lips to the point where it's kind of clownesque...
Nilufar Usmonova – Jani
Daughter of Uzbek musical LEGEND Yulduz Usmanova, Nilufar only possesses a fraction of her mother's talent. But people do not seem to care in Uzbekistan...
